Just found my 1960 Kennedy campaign button.
And two JFK bumper sticks. Not in the greatest condition, but what a find.

11. I found the button on a site that sells campaign paraphernalia.
The code indicates that particular button if you'd like to purchase it.

Neat, huh?

Sadly, I'm old enough to remember that campaign - and assassination.

3. I just found a great Nixon button that says "Nixon: Now More Than Ever"
and a Teddy Roosevelt button and a "Wings for Wilkie" button!

Of course they weren't cheap (about $13 each), but how cool is that, "Wings for Wilkie!"

9. Yes, I've seen some on Antiques Roadshow.
The stickers aren't in good shape. Button isn't too bad.

4. Wow, that's cool!
When my dear neighbor passed away, she left me a big jar of campaign buttons to remember her. There are quite a few JFK buttons in the jar, along with many others. Also many buttons for Adlai Stevenson and things from the convention in 1956. I have no idea of the value but they are a wondeful memento of my friend.

It has red, white and blue ribbons and a little plastic donkey hanging from it.

I was 11 at the time. :)

13. I can beat that
Edited on Mon Feb-20-06 11:24 PM by proud2Blib

It was my dad's. He had one from every campaign from about 1932 until 1996. I got this one when he died and my sisters got the others.

On edit - not a very good picture. Sorry. Still trying to figure out the new camera.

14. Oh cool
I love collecting Kennedy (I have all the Kennedy brothers presidential campaign buttons, JFK 1960, RFK '68, and Teddy in '80)

But my favourite president (and first prez I seriously collected) is Lincoln and I've got his campaign button framed on my wall (it's tiny and it's framed with a picture of Lincoln).

Campaign buttons are by far one of the cooler items to collect. The funkier a campaign item is, the rarer it can be. (Think Jimmy Carter's Smiling Peanut, so on).

The JFK Library has several of those bumper stickers and buttons as part of their exhibit.

18. I still have one, too. I was 12, and hunted down the headquarters
one day when I was in downtown Nashville and got the button.

20. I have a large button that reads
"Mamie start packing, the Kennedys are coming". I wore it to high school in 1960 and was ridiculed the entire day.
