At work tomorrow, I'll hand in my resignation.
I'm not looking forward to it, as they're nice folks, and largely have treated me well. However, I've been given a position with another place, in a higher position, working with folks I adore and have worked with in the past. I couldn't possibly have turned it down.

I'm giving two weeks, but I'll bet they tell me to walk that day.

9. Living is changing.
Certainly, in these times, nobody can blame you for seizing the rare opportunity for upward movement!

I wish you luck with your new job. :)

10. I'm hoping that management where I am now also
sees it that way (they'd have to be dolts not too). My industry is small, and everyone kind of knows everyone, or at least someone familiar with that person. Not looking to burn bridges, you know.

12. I know exactly how you feel.
I provide voiceover services, and even though we're often several states distant, many of us in the business are acquainted with each other. You try to maintain good practices and a fair reputation, because everybody will hear about your missteps!

In the end, though, it's all about your quality of life. We're no longer in the 90's. Jobs that pay a living wage are rare enough, but promotions are even moreso. You do what's best for you, and let them have a cow if that's what they prefer. :)
