Is it me or is every damn Bon Jovi song the exact same song... |
|
Except with a different title?
(I somehow heard 4 or 5 "different" Bon Jovi songs this weekend, and this was my conclusion.)

I guess that's why I liked it.

5. "Blaze of Glory" was Jon Bon Jovi solo |
|
I think that explains it. :)

Although I'm pretty sure several of their recent singles have been only slightly altered rewrites of their comeback hit from a few years ago "It's My Life". (Which itself always reminded me, musically, of Bryan Adams's "Summer of '69"!) Oh well, if you find a sound that works, you may as well use it, I guess. :-)

7. True, but unfair to single out Bon Jovi for this crime |
|
It worked for Status Quo since the 60s.
And don't forget the blues. Every single blues song is the same, no matter who the artist!

17. And AC/DC. They are the KINGS of putting out the same song over and over. |
|
The good thing is, it's a really fun song, and I like it.

8. They're still not as bad as Nickelback...and I adore the song "Runaway" |
|
which doesn't really sound like anything else they have done. :hi: Old Bon Jovi is really very good. :hi:

I had MuchMoreMusic (Canada's answer to VH1, I guess) on yesterday, for some unknown reason...Anyway, they played a Nickelback song, then two Theory of a Deadman songs, and I thought. until I looked at the titles on the screen, that they were all Nickelback songs.

9. I think they're really Loverboy, only *slightly* more butch. |
|
Seriously, every Bon Jovi song I can think of off the top of my head is pretty much a straight-up lift from either "The Kid is Hot Tonight" or "Workin' for the Weekend."

12. What about Wanted: Dead or Alive? |
|
;)
A song notable for introducing a twin-neck accoustic guitar if nothing else (on that MTV Awards show WAAAYYYYYYYYY back when.) Now that I think of it, I think that performance is what gave them the idea for "Unplugged" Should Bon Jovi be held accountable for that?

10. I think they give you the death penalty here in NJ |
|
if you don't like at least one Bon Jovi song...and you also get the death penalty for the mere unkind thought directed at Springsteen

11. I think you're talking about Tool |
|
:hide:
Bon Jovi, uniformly bland, I'll admit that--I generally do a good job at avoiding Bon Jovi though, so I can't rreally comment too much here.
Listening to a Tool album is a lot like listening to one 97 minute song about the bleakness of life and blackest despair. And then the next album picks up exactly where the preceeding one left off.

14. I had the same opinion of tool. |
|
Someone recommended I buy one of their albums, so about 2 years ago, I got the one with the inside of the human body thing on it.
It was like Ozzie took entirely too much heroin, laced with some other depressant. I don't mind somewhat dark music, but something has to show some light in there.

Instead I'll replace "Tool" with "Nickelback" and agree wholeheartedly.

I think it applies to both bands. I can at least tolerate Tool though. Ironically, its Bon Jovi that makes me want to shoot myself.

I thought 14 year old girls bought the CDs just to look at the band photos. I didn't think anyone was actually listening to it.

Both ballads and faster stuff there. Lately he's gotten a bit more modern rock, and it's just not as good.
