Get out ads from the Sunday paper Go buy a new washer :)
Mine has "spinning" issues these days, and I have had it repaired three times already.
Of course it started this shit AFTER the warranty ran out. We deliberately got a not-so-expensive washer, but I am leaning towards getting a beefier model next time around.
I really miss my Maytag stainless-steel tub washer I hade years ago.. I bought it used for $50, and that thing made it though 12 years of washing clothes for 3 boys & Mom & Dad.. By the time it was time to replace it, I was appalled at the price to replace it, so I started down the path of "modestly priced" washers.. big mistake

10. Amana makes a nice washer with a huge stainless tub |

I sold a ton of them when I sold appliances and never heard a complaint about them. The price is fairly reasonable for a conventional washer. If you don't get a front loader (they're efficient but seem to break down more) I'd try one of those. :)

12. Oh, it got unplugged as soon as I got the extinguisher. But I love this |
|
Maytag. It's one of those extra large capacity tubs so I can wash a lot of clothes at once in it.

fatal to the washer, maybe not. I had the same problem. If it smells like burning rubber, then it's no big deal to fix. Otherwise it's probably a lot more serious. Either way stop it and unplug it ASAP!

I find to be somewhat ironic since the washer was all of 2 feet away from the cat's litterbox.
