Hey old movie lovers! What do you think of Barbara Stanwyck
I think she could do anything.

My three favorite Stanwyck parts:

The con-artist who manipulates Henry Fonda in "The Lady Eve"
The femme-fatal in the GREATEST film noir of all-time "Double Indemnity"
Mary Carson--out shining everybody in her final big role in "The Thornbirds"

Not to mention that she was one of the few female stars who excelled in westerns.

1. Loved her
in Stella Dallas. One of the greatest and saddest old movies out there. :hi:

2. I still need to see that one.
And I love Stanwyck - but can't understand why I keep missing it! The Lady Eve is my favorite of hers so far as well.

Nice to see you hippywife! :hi:

5. She played bad so good in 'Thorn Birds'
Boy, did I hate her in that. She was awesome in Big Valley, too.

She was wonderful. Loved her in "The Lady Eve" and "Double Indemnity".

And, in another favorite film of mine, she was chewing huge chunks of scenery in "Walk on the Wild Side"

She could do anything. Great actress and film star.

12. The only good thing about The Thornbirds...
...was Babs' passionate little monologue to Father Ralph. I'm not sure if she was really good, but she really did outshine the rest of the cast in that stinker.
