Dieters, put SUGAR in your coffee.
I see people putting that nasty saccharine or Aspartame sweetener in coffee and tea, and it boggles my mind. Why? How many calories in a tsp. of sugar? Like 16? Unless you drink a TON of coffee, or put in a TON of sugar, it's not going to make a difference. As a matter of fact, I've lost 50 lbs since I switched from diet sodas to sweetened coffee and unsweetened tea. Artificial sweeteners make you CRAVE sweets. Besides, the aspartame ones lose their flavor with heat anyway. Try setting a 2 liter bottle of Aspartame diet soda out in the hot sun for a couple days then drink it - the sweetness will be gone.

Yesterday, I saw a very overweight man at the supermarket buying a diet soda, and I so wanted to say something to him, but didn't dare. It was hard for me to kick my addiction to them, but I'm so glad I did. They sabotage your diet and your health.

1. I also was a real Equal and Splenda junkie.
I switched to Splenda when I realized that I just had to got off of Equal given everything bad that I was reading about it. Turns out that I was allergic to Splenda. (I got a rash all over my neck.)

I finally just totally quit them both. Now I use honey to sweeten my tea.

3. Better yet, drink water.
At least in place of the soda.

7. Did that. It's insane.
I used to drink so much soda. we'd get 2 liters, cases of cans, etc. Now I pretty much drink coffee, water, and very rarely milk. When we go out to eat I would order a soda, but they just got so sweet that I've stopped doing that. I can drink soda nowdays, but I just prefer water or something unsweetened. It's so unnecessary.

The best part about water is that it's essentially free.

8. Splenda AKA Sucralose
Pro-sucralose site:

http://www.ific.org/publications/brochures/sucralosebroch.cfm

Detractor site:

http://www.holisticmed.com/splenda/

While it is unlikely that sucralose is as toxic as the poisoning people are experiencing from Monsanto's aspartame, it is clear from the hazards seen in pre-approval research and from its chemical structure that years or decades of use may contribute to serious chronic immunological or neurological disorders.

Personally, I'd rather not take my chances on the FrankenFoods, if possible. The fact that Splenda is chlorine-based does not make me excited about using it.

But then, I don't have much of a sweet tooth (or at least I didn't until I started drinking diet sodas - then I started to crave sweets constantly!) So I probably only use 3 to 4 tsp of sugar per day in my drinks, max. That's a total of 60 calories. Nothing to sweat over.

But it does seem that Splenda is a better choice than Saccancerine or Nutrashit.

6. I talked an acquaintance of mine into giving up diet pop
for just one month (just to see what happens). He happily reported that he was drinking solely water and iced tea, but didn't notice any change. He continued on that he was sweetening the tea with 'equal'....DUH
