3. Have you read "Eve's Seed: Biology, the sexes, and the course of history"

Its a really fascinating work on the general subject area by one of my former professors. Its excellent! Here's a snippet from a review:

"Why has misogyny been so entrenched throughout history? McElvaine, chair of history at Millsaps College, traces it to the invention of agriculture. The cultivation of crops, he says, devalued males' social role as hunters and, at the same time, gave rise to the "conception misconception," which held that males alone possessed reproductive power while females were merely empty ground in which men sowed their seed. McElvaine argues that from this essential error arose hierarchies, dualistic thinking, competition, war, slavery, racism, individualism, consumerism and, of course, sexism."

I will put that on my list for reading.

I finally got a copy of the Nine Nations of North America....to be honest, a bit disappointed in this one---I think I waited too long to read it. It came out in 1995, and I can see where people would have loved it then.

The most exciting thing I have read recently was "1491."

11. Hey, you! Glad you're back....Had a cool day ....

My guy let me pick out a pair of walking shoes and, based on advice I got on DU, I have a fabulous pair of "New Balance" walking shoes.

For dinner we had corn/crab chowder and tiramisu. I am so sated it hurts.....Now we go to bed and what can I expect from a man who gave me tulips?
