I just watched the movie "Z"
What a great movie! Its about something that happened in another country years ago but there are so many great lessons and themes. It showed how the establishment protects eachother, the pressures put on honest people and what a difference it can make when one honest person refuses to back down.

I wish every high school or college student were forced to watch that movie. Its scary how many young people there are who trust authority. That's why so many went along with the Iraq War at first. You Baby Boomers forgot to teach many of the current generation the lessons you learned about not trusting the government!

Any other fans of Z?

2. Great movie, isn't it?
And speaking of Ives Montand and political movies, you must watch 'I as In Icarus' too.

It's a French movie, and I hope it's available in English. It literally deals with the JFK murder, way way way before Oliver Stone touched the subject. It's a deep movie.

12. One of the great political movies of all time
Note how they never reveal until the end where the movie is taking place. (However, at the time, every politically aware person would have known exactly what events are being portrayed.)

13. It is surprisingly universal
I was worried I wouldn't enjoy it so much since I'm not familiar with the surrounding events and history. They truly made a movie to fit any time and nation.
