2. Spoiler!!!!!!!!
Hedrick already blew the gold.

He's a bit obnoxious and I hate his skating style.

3. They're not head to head, boy this coverage is confusing. They
are racing though.

8. Read up on Hedrick's attitude prob after the race.
Hedrick worked the crowd while Davis was a bit more reserved. Then Hedrick blew off both Davis and Fabris while Davis talked to Fabris.

"After the bouquets were presented, Davis and Hedrick stepped up and joined Fabris. Davis tousled the Italian's hair and they talked to each other. Not Hedrick. He stared straight ahead. There was no traditional handshake between the medalists."

9. Poor sport,
rude, nasty style w/ no technical skill to it.
I was never a fan.

Davis, OTOH, has had problems too. Sure, his fight and departure from US Speedskating has left a sour taste in some mouths. But he has great technical style and has trained for this his whole life. And the press is making a big deal out of his answers-problem is Davis is not known for being a good interview and never has been.

(Yep-been following speed skating for years, even outside of the Olympics.)

10. Thought it was dumb for Davis to bellyache about not Hedrick not
shaking his hand. Davis should have just taken the high road.

11. But that was after he had been egged on and
villanized by the media all week long. I can see his point-I earned a medal for myself, my family, US Speedskating and the USA and Hedrick refused to acknowledge it. Not only did he not say "Good job" but he said something along the lines that night of "I'm glad that Cheek won the bronze."

WTF did Hedrick expect? Davis held the WR in the 1000 LT. Davis deserved that medal and the world knew it. Even the skaters from other countries knew it. The only ones who haven't realized it yet-the US media and Hedrick.

Davis didn't owe Hedrick shit. He did owe it to himself and to his team to uphold his performance on the 1000 and not blow it. He did not owe it to Hedrick to pad Hedrick's medal count, like Hedrick seems to think.
