The Maytag guy is here!!!
I'm thinking of stuffing him in a closet when he's done...for the next time this overpriced POS breaks down. :hi:

9. heheheheh. I should have told him, but I'm too busy sobbing over the
fact that the motor, belt, pump, gasket and seal are shot in a 1 1/2 year old machine. :( :hi:

11. It would have been better if he showed up yesterday and now it's
going to take 7-10 business days for the parts to come in. Grrrrr. :(

12. Yeah. I should have shipped it out with him, because I have a worthless
$1000 Neptune washer in the basement and now have to go to a landramat to do our clothing. I'm two steps from crying.

15. I'm so sorry
for you, I'd be too. Additionally MrsG, laundromats can be scary places. Be sure to bring MrG along!

Otherwise you just may have to do it the old fashioned way.
:scared:

13. Well, I hope you bought an extended warranty, because this is the second
time we've had to have service on this (Neptune washer)...and it takes forever for the parts to come in.

23. We always had Maytags when I was growing up with no problems.
I've never (knock wood) had a problem with any other appliance I have owned, but this Neptune is crap for the $1000 we paid for it. We were going to buy the GE but liked the top loader on the Neptune. The first guy who fixed it only rigged it so that it was only a matter of time until the entire machine blew. Every part on the inside is now going to be new...but I still don't trust it. :(

19. Isn't it shocking that that's EXACTLY how long it will take for the back
ordered parts to come in? The guy who fixed it last time rigged it with electrical tape which caused it to break even worse this time. :grr: My life stinks right now...all because of a washing machine.

29. Thanks AM...That means a lot. I am really close to sobbing over this.
When I think of the money we spent and the time we took...

I guess I should consider myself lucky in that we bought the extended coverage plan. The parts and labor for this are $600, The parts and labor for the last fix were $650...which would have had us at $1250 in repairs for a $1000 machine.

The guy at Home Depot told me they discontinued this model. Ha. I wonder why. Anyway, Home Depot said too bad...no new machine, Maytag always says 7-10 days and last time that cost us over $200 in laudramat fees.

Thanks again.

30. Oh, my!
That's terrible! If you didn't live so darn far away, I'd let you use mine! It's old, but it still works great. Seems like a nasty-gram to Maytag is in order.

Here's another one... and a spare.

31. You are the sweetest! Thank you...
  <<<to return the favor. :)

My next door neighbor is always really good about washing machine use, but I shouldn't have to...Wahhhh! I'm being really pessimistic today. One would think I had totalled the car or something. The funny thing is is that my old washing machine really had nothing wrong with it, MrG just wanted me to have something "nice and brand new" to call my own.

26. apparently not. He was an hour late, and this is the second time
our basically brand new machine has broken. My guess is that they have more business than they can (or want to) handle. :hi:
