We said goodbye to Bandit today - the end of an era

Today, we said goodbye to Bandit, the last of the 32 ferrets we have had since 1990. Right now we have no immediate plans for new ferrets, as the three cats keep us busy. But, maybe someday again.

6. Domestic ferrets usually live about six years

We've had a few make it past 10 (one was 12 when he passed), but 8-1/2 is quite good. Ferrets are prone to cancers and other nasty diseases, and the surgeries are quite expensive. Fortunately, my best buds are vets with their own practice, and I did all their computers and software, so I get Priority One care with my pets.

lucky them to have had such good homes and happy lives with you.

I've never known any ferrets. My hubby had chinchillas years ago, very entertaining critters too.
