Edited on Wed Feb-22-06 07:29 PM by primate1
Mine, however, would have to be...

Alexisonfire, Protest The Hero, and Propagandhi from Canada
Refused and The Lost Patrol from Sweden
Silverchair from Australia. I'm thinking there's another Australian band I really like, but it's not coming to me.

Damn, this is hard, haha.

65. Northern Ireland, Yes. Republic of Ireland, No.
It's all part of the British Isles, but the Republic of Ireland has nothing to do with the United Kingdom in present history (except that both the UK and Ireland (Republic of) are both members of the European Union). It was on 6th December, 1921 that the Irish Free State was formed, ceding from Britain at that point by means of treaty, but still tied to the Commonwealth (then Empire) by means of the British monarch being head of state. It became a Republic on 1st April 1949, and disconnected totally from British influence.

72. Nope, only the Northern part, LOL!
Most of Ireland is Ireland proper. Northern Ireland (Belfast, etc.) is part of the UK. I believe some Irish are pissed about that.

Um, at least I think!

23. The Sounds sing "We're Not Living In America, But We're Not Sorry"
Edited on Wed Feb-22-06 08:19 PM by Kire
The chorus of one of their songs is "We're Not Living In America, But We're Not Sorry".

They are from Sweden

I hope they come out with a second album soon. The name of the album, and the song I quoted above, is "Living in America". I suggest you pick it up.

Other songs go, "We're gonna start a Riot! Riot! Riot!"
And, "Hit me hard, hit me right between the eyes, I wanna see the stars, hit me, hit me!"

Their singer is one tough chick.

96. Excellent choice
Singer Rita Lee still performs and makes records in Brazil, even though they call her "granny rock" nowadays. She got Sergio Dias to perform with her at a special concert for her 50th birthday, or some such milestone. (She also sang Arnaldo's old song "Balado Louco.")

101. Sloan are good, though I prefer their earlier stuff.
"Coax Me" and "The Lines You Amend" were two of my favourite songs back in the day.

Gogol Bordello are from Brooklyn, by the way. They were never a band in Ukraine, they formed in the US.

Which is not to say they don't fuckin' RULE, because they totally do, but they're from the USA.

Where's mogwai from? I've never known! Just love their sound.

And Sigur Ros is just too beautiful for me to handle. It gets right at my belly and just settles in.
