Does anybody else hate the commercials lately?

They are absolutely annoying. The Superbowl ones sucked. The Olympic ones are terrible. March Madness better be decent.

I especially hate the Sheryl Crow "Every day is a winding road" Subaru commercial. I absolutely hate anything with Donald Trump in it. I can't stand the Gecko with the British accent, especially when he's talking about "Pie and chips." Maybe I'm just getting old and grouchy.

3. Television advertising..

.... took a turn for the worse in the early 80s (that's when companies, notably AT&T and McDonalds starting taking the tack that they "care about" their customers. Puhllllleeeeaaassseee) and it's gone steadily downhill from there.

Someone should sue AOL for false advertising, they can no more block all spam, viruses, etc than they can wave a magic wand and regain market share.

The car commercials are the new worst, full of stupid CGI effects that must impress somebody, but I've never met anyone who was.

And there are still the companies that "care" about us. Isn't that fucking special?

those Wal-Mart commercials are precious. They make it sound like they'll do anything to make a community safe. If there was a burning building Wal-Mart pretends they'll run in and save a cat. I just shake my head at those ones. Pure farce. As you succinctly put it, "Isn't that fucking special?" :)

The one where she thinks she pulled the wagon by herself, but it was really mom and dad in the back pushing? That thing made me cry! It's sooo sweet. And have you seen the Disney one where the little boy goes into his sister's room and they talk about what it's going to be like? And his mom comes in and he says, "But we're too excited to sleep?!" I just want to hug that kid and kiss his chubby little cheeks. He's so adorable. I love that commercial.

He comes up with a new one every two months or so, which always involves some dumb theme where he and two or three others are singing and dancing to some song in an obnoxious manner. If his dealerships were the only ones in the state I'd gladly drive out of state to get a car.

It's one of the most idiotic commercials ever created. Why would a can of Diet Pepsi costar with Jackie Chan in an action movie? I know, it's just a freaking commercial, but it soars to new heights of idiocy. Having Jay Mohr talk to said can of Diet Pepsi adds to the moronic level of this commercial. It's enough to make me want to swear off Diet Pepsi forever, which I don't think is what the ad agency and client had in mind.
