2. I liked when Vyvyan used to tell people that Rick's name...
was spelled with a silent "P" at the beginning.

4. I loved the show.
And, if I'm not mistaken, the actor who portrayed Vyvyan sings the opening song to "Absolutely Fabulous"

Useless trivia, I know.

41. Yes Adrian Edmundson is married to
Jennifer Saunders, it is a fact. They have a small farm in the country and three children. They are very low key, which is why people don't always realise.

And both Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French guest starred in a couple episodes.

More trivia: Adrian Edmondson guests on Abs Fab as a food critic, once with Dawn French.

44. Dawn French's husband is my favourite living British Comedian.
Lennie Henry is also a fine serious actor,if fine that the mark of a truely great comedian is being a good actor too.
Ronnie Barker was a very good actor and very clever with his work, he is my other favourite.
As for female comedians I prefer Victoria Wood and Julie Walters to Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French and Ruby Wax.

19. Never mind
its a line from an episode, the one with the vampire.

Vyv borrows a VCR to watch porn (a "video" in british)
as he's setting it up, every person that comes in comments "oh, do we have a video?"
to which Vyv replies "YES, WE HAVE A VIDEO!" eventually getting so pissed off that he puts Neil's head through a window.

12. It bored me
I watched it like twice when MTV ran it eons ago. Couldn't find a reason to continue to watch — though I'd probably check it out again to see if I missed anything. (My sense of humor's changed a bit since then.)

I recall just one bit, when a bomb came through their roof and the low-key dude said, "Oh, no. It's the Holocaust."

28. Saw a couple episodes in New Zealand
I was biking the country. Camp grounds had kitchen sheds and sometimes a telly. Most of us were interested in the weather for the next day (praying for tailwinds, but plowing them more often than not). I've been tempted to buy the DVD, but the price has turned me away.

31. I love "The Young Ones" and also another, around the same time,
it was called "Comic Strips" and it had a "send up" of the Famous Five
kids detectives. When they got excited and wanted to celebrate they
got "cucumber sandwiches, fresh tomatoes, bags of lettuce and lashings of ginger beer, oh wizzer!"
I bust that one out on occasion to crack myself up, but most people
don't know what the hell I talking about.
(Vyv's accent) Bastards!

35. If you can play Region 2 (PAL) DVD's, you can import the complete
"Comic Strip Presents ..."

There are some absolute stinkers, but there's enough great stuff to make it worthwhile. (It's also not quite complete as a new one aired over Xmas (featuring Mayall & Planer) although you won't be missing much.)

40. I was never allowed to watch it, as I was a kid then....
However it had great appeal to young boys and men, that love gross toilet humour. I have seen it since and hate it.
I do love Adrian Edmundson and Rik Mayall as straight actors, they are have broken up the partnership and are both doing well on British TV.
