Are there Blimps floating around your city? Like ALL THE TIME?
In San Diego there isn't a day that goes by that I dint see a damn blimp with some corporate crap on it.
Its not just when the Padres or Chargers are playing. Its all the time down here.
Do other US cities have blimps constantly flying over?
Do you think that they are up there for reasons other than advertising?

1. Lotsa sporting events in Southern California.
Plus the Goodyear blimp is based in Carson, so it's probably around a lot more than in other cities. What I don't think people realize is how loud those things can be.

4. Its not just Goodyear.
Fuji
Blockbuster
Virgin
IKEA...

And right now there is nothing going on along the lines of sporting events here. Only minor league hockey and crappy college basketball teams.
And its EVERY DAY you look up and see a blimp.!

Thirty years ago, I arrive in Rome with some friends, in the evening. In order to experience some local flavor immediately, we head down to the ancient center of Rome, the Forum, which is lit at night.

We attempt to enjoy the Roman antiquities, but are utterly discracted in Rome, Italy, by a huge Goodyear blimp cruising over us, with garish moving light displays on the side that are animated adverstisments of various commercials. So much for ancient foreign culture.

Be thankful you don't live in LA. The problem isn't blimps, but continous helicopter patrols.
