Do you Know What Your First Word
Edited on Thu Feb-23-06 09:15 PM by Liberalynn
was? Okay so we have done George's. Now what was yours as a child?

Mine according to my baby book was "Sista!"

I guess I knew even then who I was going to be closest to and depend on the most in my family. My big Sis. She's always been there for me and though I love my Mom and loved and still love the memory of my late father, my sister was always my shelter in the storm, and the person who has meant the most to me in my life.

We had a backgammon set built into our living room coffee table, so it's not that weird, given that! :)

7. Actually mine is kinda odd
I never said all the baby talk that is so cute. First thing I ever said was " Grandmother, will you please make me a sandwich?"

(I never got that sandwich, though - everyone was amazed that Khash wasn't mute and could speak. And I never shut up - in fact my mother and I were kicked out of a coffee shop because the waitress insisted that I was possessed by the devil. Babies can't talk. I could. It totally freaked her out.)

Khash.

9. That's kind of cool
and I think they should have made you that sandwitch.

It wasn't her first word but at 3 the little girl my family baby sat for asked about her mother and my sister who were both dressed in white uniforms and shoes, "Mommy and Debbie look very similar today don't they Linda?"

I said yes they do, and then stood there with my mouth open. I was kind of amazed that she spoke in a complete sentence and used the word in proper context too. It was also kind of comforting though that like me she had trouble remembering numbers, just like me. I was ten at the time and didn't want to be outshone by a three year old.

Although I ended up excelling on the verbal end of the spectrum in school too. In regards to math, I've just accepted that I am litterally brain dead.

23. A couple months before I was one.
It was weird. I never made a sound and everyone was worried. Babies cry, babies make noises, they respond vocally to their environment. Not me. I only made a sound when I was able to speak in full sentences. At first my family were worried - babies aren't silent. They wondered if I was deaf or retarded.

Well I'm not deaf, retarded is still open to question :) I recently described myself as the dumbest smart man or the smartest dumb man. I was told both are true. :)

But because I was treated as deaf - I don't remember all of it just bits and pieces - it has become an issue for me.

31. I started talking really early (5 months)
I was a very small baby, and even though I didn't start with entire sentences or anything, it still startled people to see a baby-in-arms talking--especially a small one who looked even younger!

Are you on the autistic spectrum? (I have a hard time keeping track of who here is and who isn't!) Also, did you read early? And what age is your earliest memory from?
