15. Tabbed browsing actually makes dial-up bearable

I'm in the sticks too, though cable broadband just reached my area so I will be changing over.

With tabbed browsing, I can be reading a web page and if something catches my eye, I can open it as another tab and keep reading while it loads in the background. Very seldom do I have to wait for anything because by the time I'm done reading one page the next one is ready.

13. Tabs are the things in Firefox (and some other browsers)

that allow you to basically have multiple websites open in a single window. You can click between tabs and it's like you clicked between windows, except if you close the window, all the tabs close, too.

I realize that was a terrible explanation, but it's late and I'm thirsty.
