I have emerged from the dark ages.
I got a cell phone for Valentine's Day. Is it hard to learn how to do text messages? I am so ignorant about this stuff.

1. I don't like doing text messages on a cell phone ...
because the keys are so little! But, you can get used to it. Do you have text service with your cell? I have heard that it can get pricey. Well, I know some people whose teenagers have run up the bill, anyway! :)

2. I don't even know if I do.
I guess I should check, huh?:P I thought the phone just "did" it.

6. I've worked in telecom for 15 years
and I only just got a personal cell phone within the past 2 years. It's an evil necessity.

My baby sister is on my family plan, and she thinks I'm a dinosaur. I will never understand how she can send and receive that many thousands of text messages in a single month.

:wtf:

7. I had one once, for a year, and I hated it.
I went back to school in January and I'm away from my kids, and commuting with an-increasingly less reliable vehicle, so it seemed like a good idea. Otherwise, I'd have avoided it.

9. I find texting painful...
Edited on Fri Feb-24-06 11:20 AM by Orsino
...on a typical phone, what with hitting keys multiple times, and waiting for characters to register. I ditched my old phone in favor of one with a thumb keyboard...but my wife and I exchange text messages constantly.

With a real keyboard, texting is fun.
