Except for the chipped nail polish, they are perfectly smooth on top. There are no ridges or growth-marks... they have a perfectly straight forward-curl (they don't curl or twist to the side).

Mine are not so much fragile... it's just that I grew up playing violin (until I was 12), and by then, I was acclimated to not having nails, really. And then I took up rock climbing, and you can't have finger OR toenails for that, really. If I can feel my fingernails touching the keys when I type, it bugs me!

I guess I just can't understand, why one would do that. I'll just have to add it to the list of things in this world I don't understand!
