Okay, Olympics are almost over....which sport do YOU want to take up? |
|
Maybe I'll take up curling... :)
I used to do that as a kid, but for the life of me I wouldn't know how to do it now without instruction.

8. I ice skated on my own and usually didn't fall |
|
I never figured out how to spin though. I think that I could pass the first few levels quickly but I don't know if they would be too receptive to a 28 year old beginning figure skater. One of my freshman college classmates has just started figure skating lessons in high school and entered low level competition. Some of the parents of the other competitors complained because she was much older than the children at that level. Perhaps, I'd have more luck with speed skating. I guess that some people have taken up the sport at my age and have done quite well.

6. I think Curling too, with some changes |
|
First of all, there needs to be some serious trash talking involved. Also, the US teams were far too in-shape for it. There needs to be some beer guts. And while we're at it, you need to be able to bring your beer to the game. Just sit it on the ice to keep it cold. Think of the sponsors you could get!

9. You're going back to the curling of yesteryear |
|
When I played (30 years ago! yikes!), there were ashtray and beer stands all along the ice. We were talking about it today at work. When curling was first introduced into the Olympics (1988 - Calgary, as a demonstration sport), the rink for Canada was told to lose weight so they would look like "athletes". Heeee....

15. There's no cool like old school! |
|
I really think the only thing better than being one of the curlers would be to be one of the groupies there. You'll recognize me as the one with the air horn in 2010!
I wonder who I need to petition to get an Olympic ice rink and curling club in Atlanta???

7. If I can't have curilng, I'll take the luge |

What's not to love about the luge. Strap myself to a board, and go sailing down a steep hill. That sounds pretty smart, eh.

seriously, curling. I'd love to try it. I've never cross country skied either. I'd like to try that someday.
