There's a much different Will Ferrell in that film. I really loved it. No potty humor, silliness... none of the typical WF stuff we've all know and ... well... it's not his typical schtick.

Arrogance doesn't play well in comedy -- except when it's part of the comedy.

Miller's arrogance was, and is, 100% genuine. He's too hip for the room -- he's just there to take the rubes' money. Always.

Now Jimmy Fallon -- there's a comedian's comedian!

Not that they'll have him, mind you.

His real name is Andy Silverman, if I recall.

He's personally pretty much opposite to the Diceman persona, which seriously damaged his reputation. It's a shame, because I've seen some of his non-Diceman stuff, and he's otherwise an excellent comedian and humorist.

Your blooper was once the Diceman's reality.

I hated the Diceman act, too. I think he was tired of being broke and decided to be a wise-ass cynic -- and made hundreds of millions of dollars from it. Young Andrew is one of the most successful wise-asses in history.

39. Most stand-ups suck ass
How many more times can the "Angry White Blue-Collar Overworked Moderately Conservative Hetero Man" genre be worked? (If you call that work.)

It's been a non-stop shittorrent of anti-P.C. comedy since 1990. At least Jay Leno, one of the founders of the genre, worked self-mockery into it. Most of them are just adult tantrumists.

Jackie Mason is the absolute worst of the bunch.

He's one of the MILLIONS of stand-ups who works the "Let's All Complain About Political Correctness" mine. All the gold, silver, and coal has been mined out of it, and they're now down to shit.

Mason is just plain UGLY. Not by his looks, but by the way he acts. Just a hateful momzer who has been getting by on ethnicity and a Simpsons episode for years. Coming from a Jewish/Irish background, I can say sincerely that none of the Jews in my family can stand him, and only one of the Irish.

If I had a dog who was as ugly as Mason's persona, I'd shave its ass and teach it to smoke cigars.

45. Probably way too many of them
I find, as an adult, that I hate The Three Stooges. I also don't care for the Little Rascals, nor much slapstick at all.

Most sitcoms drive me insane from lack of comedy as well. I find a lot of sexist comedy unfunny, and swearing during most performances doesn't do much for me either.

Benny Hill was terrible, though I love Monty Python. It's probably easier for me to say what does amuse me, rather than what I dislike. ;)

After some comments from Jerry Lewis, for example, I have come to the conclusion that he is worthless. Don Rickles never did it for me, either. Lucy didn't do much for me, either--I find the different shows through time to be nothing but a lot of whining.

I guess my funny bone has gotten eclectic.

Standing Firm
However, finding others in Hollywood who share a common bond with Heaton when it comes to her pro-life stance is more like patchwork, rather than seamless. Heaton is in the Hollywood minority as far as valuing the sanctity of human life, but that doesn't stop her from standing for what she believes.

"Women have been sold up the river, a bit, as far as abortion goes -- and a message about empowerment has been twisted," Heaton said.

Then, ms. heaton went on a hunger strike for Terri Schiaveo (you remember, her anorexia was believed to have caused the heart attack & coma.)

Edited on Sat Feb-25-06 04:34 PM by LostinVA
That was proven to be false statements from an emotionally disturbed foster child. She did, however, have an alcohol problem, and had to go through extensive treatment before her adopted children could live with her again. And, that false charge has basically ruined her career. Why? Because her innocence didn't make the front page of People like the false accusation did. I was also disgusted by the homophobia that came through in many press accounts.
