Hi tekkie friends,

if i only use my laptop as a desktop, is it safe to remove the battery and just keep the cpr plugged into the wall?

would that hurt the laptop?

2. It won't hurt your laptop either way.
Leave the battery in or take it out, it doesn't really matter.

"Leaving a battery in a laptop while using an electrical outlet for long periods of time will keep the battery in a constant state of charging up and that will reduce the life cycle of the battery."

4. That's perfectly fine.
In fact, it will help when you use the battery because having to battery constant receiving power from the outlet weakens its power and life. Before you do this, however, run the laptop on the battery until the battering is almost drained, then remove it and plug the computer into the wall. Be sure to keep the battery in a safe place, though. :hi:

5. I could be wrong, but I don't think that would be a problem.

Though why would you not want the battery in there? I think it'd be a good idea to leave it in to serve as a sort-of UPS (uninterruptable power supply) in case of power outages and things of the sort.

Also, if you're going to be using the laptop like that a lot, I highly recommend getting one of these: http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=75004

6. out, because in, i have to keep unplugging wall, when batt charges fully
to avoid what one re mentioned, which is overcharging.

so now, i continually plug and unplug every three hours or so.

So if batt out, i can stop the routine of plug in and out.

Many great thanks to all you sharp minds, and esp to the two who gave me links!!

Liked the waves too. Helped my mood this morning to rise up.
