Help! Annie Get Your Gun fans! Stylin' needed!
My daughter got the part of Dolly Tate in Annie Get Your Gun in the spring musical at her school. I need to get to work on a costume. I have not seen the show and need some help. Has anyone seen a live performance or the movie and can advise me on what would be a good costume?

Thanks so much in advance!

1. Yup, I've seen this production live, twice in my life. Great musical!
I would say cowgirl-esque clothing is fine. Lots of fringe...cowboy hat, boots, gauchos, like that.

Congrats to your daughter! :toast: Hope she has fun!

3. You don't think more of a saloon girlie look?
The charactor seems to be a bit of a floozy.

Oh..she is having so much fun. Now this is the Mom in me talking but she was Bloody Mary last year in South Pacific and she stole the show. Apparently others thought so as she got a SO during curtain calls. She has this brassy quality when on stage like an Ethel Merman.

4. Thanks!
She was very disappointed that she did not get the lead. But, as we later found out the school musical is a vehicle to showcase the talents of the HS chorus. My daughter is not in chorus, she is in band.

So it is a bit of an honor for her to be chosen for any speaking part over the chorus members. She just loves the annual musical. Last year, both my kids were in South Pacific. My daughter was absolutely wonderful and my son was an utter riot singing and dancing. He is a great big football player and he was probably the biggest ham on stage.
