I've never seen a teevee station do this
Apparently KTVU in San Francisco had some pretty severe computer problems during the 10 p.m. news, which usually runs an hour. At 10:28 tonight they apologized, saying they couldn't continue because they had no pictures, and went to a "MASH" episode.

Weird.

Jack London Square.

Thought you should know.

5. I remember in the early 70s when I lived in Alaska, the local newsguy
during the 11 p.m. report having some problems with the video or audio and then I saw him flip someone off off-camera, then they went to commercial.

He kind of disappeared after that. Think he ended up in radio.

7. That's never happened here.
And they roll up the sidewalks at dusk around here. Mash was probably better anyway.

8. It wasn't one of their better ones
Edited on Sun Feb-26-06 04:00 AM by Oeditpus Rex
The one where Charles is hoarding newspapers. It was right about the time "MASH" jumped the shark.

Edit: I take that back. It jumped when Radar went home. This one was much later.

9. A lot of the old shows sorta petered out somewhere back there.
Like SNL. The first 5 years were great.

10. Was it five? I never counted
I just go by the cast, and nothing — nothing could top the original SNL cast.

Well, you could keep Chevy Chase, but...

11.  I quit watching the show when it lost Gilda Radner.

12. I don't remember when that was
in the overall cast scheme.

But yeah — she was truly gifted.

Dunno if you ever saw "The Rutles," but she has a scene in it. Half the original cast does, including Lorne Michaels.

13. She left the show around 1980. It was downhill for SLN after that.
The show seemed to lose some of the best cast members in the early 80's.

I missed "The Rutles". I wonder if I can find a copy somewhere.
