Filling out our taxes here.. refund of approx 8k. Question is.. since that is all hubbys refund and he defaulted on his student loan but hes been paying by having it auto deducted from his paycheck - will they take all of it?? We could REALLY use that money.
Last year he wasnt making payments and they took the whole thing.. since hes making payments now will they still take all of it??
I cussed him out all day today about it and his stupid student loan that should've been paid off a LONG time ago.

off filing until you find out if his re-payment plan would preclude them taking his refund. Don't take a chance on losing it all by being hasty on filing.

Better contact the dept of education, but I believe you may be safe if he's on a payment schedule.
