What the hell?!

There are creative and good writers out there - why is Hollywood so *(@$&(&% hellbent on remaking old films?

:grr:  :banghead:

1. Because they like to beat the hell out of these oldies.
They aren't very kind to the elderly :P

2. because it is easy.
all they have to do is tweak the old screen play and voila a "new" movie on the cheap.

4. They're remaking "The Wild Bunch"!
What is the thinking behind that? Peckinpah just didn't quite get it right???!!!
I hate contemporary Hollywood. The crap they are turning out is the world's best argument against cocaine.

8. Are you serious? That's as arrogant as remaking "Psycho".
What's next? Halle Berry redoes Citizen Kane?

6. maybe they are thinking something along the lines of nostalgia
factor? I don't get it either; still trying to figure out Telly Savales = Ving Rhames.

if they remake Kelly's Heroes, Ghostbusters, or Airplane!, with ben stiller or ashton kutcher....I will move to Nepal and read Sartre.

7. It's all about the nostalgia factor
There are a million better screenplays, but what's the easiest way to sell one?
