I'm going to be the "young hero" voice in a sci-fi radio play

Through a client-turned-friend, I went to the first meeting of a group of Mensa-level literature lovers discussing the doing of an old sci-fi novel as a radio play. A dozen or so turned up to see if they could help out, and in the course of the meeting they wanted to choose the voices for the various parts. When we got to the character of the dashing young hero, everyone immediately looked right at ME. Shit. I haven't been behind a mike in thirty five years!

I have to say this group of eccentric, aging seekers felt GOOD to me. I may have for the first time found a group of like-minded adults I could really enjoy just BEING with.

It's about damned time!
