Ebay Question: How long do you give the seller to contact you after |
|
you win a bid?
I think I screwed up and paid for something before I should have. I usually pay as soon as I win and have never had a problem. Albeit, we've only bought 7 things through ebay. It has been over a week with no word from the seller. I tried emailing a happy, "looking forward to shipping" information email...and nothing.

1. I rarely receive an e-mail back from sellers. |
|
They usually just go ahead and ship it. Although if you think the item should have shipped by now, I'd contact the seller.

4. Thanks Starbucks. I'm going to give it one more email. |
|
And then I'll leave some polite, if negative, feedback.

6. Although I'd wait a day or two post-email before leaving feedback. |
|
You'd hate to jump the gun if you don't have to. :)

5. Wait two weeks before you even begin to worry. |

Sellers generally ship within 7 days, and you should allow at least 7 additional days for the item to arrive.
Sellers don't email to tell you they're shipping because that's assumed when you pay for the item.

bought 7 items, but 7 out of 7 times, they've thanked me for my business. I don't like the feeling of being left hanging. All the other times I had the "thing" by now. :hi:
It says on the item page that they ship daily...and that shipments are made as soon as payment is received. I think I am correct to be a bit put off.

9. I pay as soon as I win, also. |
|
I would give them 24 hours. Then I would contact them via ebay. After that...I don't know. That's strange that the seller wouldn't send you an invoice right away.

11. We're not "big time" ebayers. This was something I bought for my |
|
daughter as a "gag gift" for her 16th birthday on Wednesday...which she isn't going to get. I was pretty sure I was cutting it close anyway. This is just the longest it has ever taken and I am a person who suffers from lack of patience. :)

13. Well, I'm still perplexed as to why the seller didn't send you an invoice. |
|
You may re-check the instructions from the seller in his ebay description of the item. A while back, I bid on a couple of LP's Doug, my partner, asked me to get for him. The seller of those LP's specifically requested that the winner of his auction to NOT pay him via ebay...for some reason, that's what he wanted. It was a mess trying to sort all of that out.
I bring the above up just to mention that there might have been special instructions or information or something. But I still find it odd that he didn't get in touch with you right away about the invoice.
