damn stomach flu
I've been battling cdiff since Oct. and I think I just came down with the stomach flu.. Since Thurs I've been non stop in the crapper. Negative cdiff test (on 2 vancos a day) so docs say its something else. GREAT. LUCKY BLOODY ME. I swear I went at least 20 times yesterday. PCP told me on friday that theres a nasty stomach flu going around and the primary symptom is the shits.

I need a hug and some good vibes.. I'm tired of c diff I'm tired of my bathroom - as soon as I'm over c diff I'm painting my bathroom a different color.

Also been having gallbladder pains and indigestion and gas too so I'm wondering if its that as well.. I get to go to PCP today because of all thsi wonderful crap going on. I know I need the sucker out (full of stones and 15% ejection fraction) but they wont remove it until I'm done with cdiff and even so I cant get any antibiotics after this junk is out of my system.

No med advice asking just a few hugs and some good vibes.. Anyone else sick around here?

I hate the flu.

That said, how is your daughter? I posted for you last week asking. I hope all is well.

My RA is acting up, but other than that and my teeth I'm just peachy.

9. Heheheh. No, it just gets more interesting.
:) I have found the only thing that works somedays is Yoga. It is amazing how well you can feel after an hour of stretching.

11. Good luck!
I had that stomach flu-it lingers for a while.

Lucky me-as our school is finally ending its bout w/ stomach flu our kids are bringing home something new-strep throat that might be resistant to antibiotics.

12. Oh no!! Thats not good at all..
Thats what got me into this mess - antibiotics and I have to take a damn strong one now - Vancomycin to get rid of what the orginal antibiotics did. Hope its not the resistant one :(

15. Poor kids.
They say that when they look into their mouths the strep is just a mess. I spoke w/ a nurse last week and she said that they have seen some of the nastiest cases ever this time around.

16. That is not a good sign.. I'm all for the
limitations of prescribing antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. After this gut thing I never want to take another one in my life. Things are mutating because docs like to prescribe them like candy.

17. We only take them when needed
but I do know of many parents who demand them for everything.

It's because of these idiots that more things are becoming resistant.

18. It wasnt my fault this time...
I got it from labor - ethyromycin and clindamycin via iv and then I was on Omnicef for bronchitis and after i took that it all got waaaaaaaaaaay worse.

I use holistic approaches to ear infections now for the kids - no more antibiotics.

19. Same here.
Best thing that I've ever done for ear infections was to treat her hayfever year-round. A friend is a pediatrician and he thought her ear infections were actually from hay fever. He said that maybe the drainage from the allergies was flowing back and causing the infections.

We put her on some meds for allergies and she's never had an ear infection since. For pink eye we use Similasin drops instead of 'scripts. Takes a few more days but it clears up nicely and is much cheaper than a prescription.

My friend wholeheartedly approves of going a more natural route first, then using antibiotics only if needed.
