Anyone here ever heard of the Naked Post Olympic Party?

I friend was telling me about this back in '96. He had heard about it from some people in the cycling world so this is third party information ;-)

Anyway the story goes that the night of the closing ceremonies many of the athletes have a HUGE party in the dorm/housing area. Clothing optional as in you have the option of not wearing clothes or being naked. Sort of an homage to the original Greek creators of the Olympiad. There is not necessarily a drunken orgy or anything just lots of naked people "partying" and such.

Anyone ever heard of it?

There is no secret oath or anything for this. They just are asked to be discreet about it. Obviously Bob Costas isn't going to come out and say "And later tonight most everyone you see here will get naked and sloppy drunk while you are on your way to work"

And if I'd been training for as long and as hard as them, and had been depriving myself of certain kinds of fun I'd probably enjoy a bit of indulgence.

Good for them. It gives them some (more) good memories to take home with them.
