5. Hello from Bryn Mawr, Bala Cynwyd, Gwynedd, and Gladwynn
The local Quakers were mostly from Wales and the Midlands, and liked naming the towns so that no one could pronounce them, I think.

Did you know that when it came to picking a name for their country, the simply pinched the Anglo-Saxon word for foreign, Cymru?

20. I thought "Wales" was from "wealas," which meant "foreign"
I thoughy Cymru was the Welsh/Celtic word. :shrug:
