I think I actually developed a crush on a pair - both Tanith Belbin and the guy she skates with - can't remember his name, the guy who looks like an East L.A. drug dealer.

26. Isn't he though?
I developed a major crush on Apolo during the last Olympics and fell in love all over again these past couple of weeks....(See my thread here from last night: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x4808046)

He is adorable, a real sweetie, gracious, thoughtful, cute, those wonderful eyes....ah, and he can skate too. What's not to like? The world could do worse than to be filled with a bunch of men like Apolo. :)

And, although I truly love all of the figure skating events, that short track relay has got to be the coolest event of the games...Look at the number of skaters on the ice! I don't know how they keep track of what's going on.

Time to buy cereal! LOL.

OK, I vote for you to NEVER act your age. (Just think, if you did run across Apolo and he was interested and you had sworn off the younger set, you'd want to kill yourself.) (Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?)

39. She would have been 17 at the time...
I need to know how she thinks now. I could let that slide if she had come to her senses. Either way, she's an amazing skater and can do things on the ice other competitive skaters can only dream about. Her level of difficulty is why she can fall twice and still take silver. I think a lot of people who don't understand the scoring fail to realize that.

Yeah, I'm a skating geek. My daughter competes.

She's a nice little (5'2") Hepburnesque jewish kid from Orange County California, who was born at the UCLA Med Center in 1984. Mom is a former Ukrainian ballerina and Dad is an L.A. lawyer.

The Famous cell phone call? As I preach to my students:

Context! Context! Context! She was 17. It was a mere 5 months after 9/11
the President was on the line. All the haters would've hung-up I s'pose.
