Can you guys help me find out if the Queen and King of Rex have...
been announced yet?

They are never announced until the evening before the Rex parade, and the parade's tomorrow. My kid and I are thinking about going down for the day to watch some parades. (Please let it be Harry Connick Jr.!)

Thanks!

Do you get the 10:00 o'clock news out of NOLA? It should be on there.

Have fun, let the good times roll!

2. Hey!
No, I don't get any New Orleans or Baton Rouge channels. Wish I did.

How are you doing? :hi:  :loveya:

I'm trying to get papers graded, a late dinner on the table, and clothes washed so that just MAYBE I can clear out of her tomorrow AM. :bounce:

4. I'll try to catch the NOLA news for you.
I'm getting bummed out about all this 6 month anniversary coverage, so maybe I'll just surf till I find the Rex royalty coverage. (Though Anderson Cooper is doing some real coverage on CNN.)

Next year plan on coming to the Coast, I hope to have a house by then and you and MMjr are welcome to experience Mardi Gras here.

We will have one parade tomorrow in Biloxi. Guess who is the grand marshall

Good luck with the papers and washing.

 :loveya:

7. Who's the GM in Biloxi?
I've never been to Biloxi's mardi gras, but I've heard wonderful things about it!

M, turn off the television. Read one of those books I brought you, or listen to some good jazz. The coverage has been getting to me just a little bit, too.

BTW, guess who called me last week and then drove through my 1/2-mile-long driveway this past weekend? My ex. I've been getting advice from a counselor on how to deal with him, too.

I'm ok, besides that. Just try to tune out the static and move on with my stuff. I truly hope that you are able to do that, too.

9. I tuned out a good bit of it this evening.
I was chatting with JJ and she told me that Jon Stewart was on Larry King, so I turned it on his show and laughed and laughed (and lusted  )

Jazz doesn't work for me, to many reminders. I have to make new memories and I just can't get into Jazz right now. And to be honest, I'm embarassed to say, I can't even focus on reading. I'm working on it and things are getting a little better, every day a new day. First step is realizing you got a problem, right?

I'm trying my best to tune out the stuff, I promise. Hell, I focused for the first time at work last week and actually wrote a brief, it was glorious. It felt wonderful to be able to think again. :D

Damn, what the hell with the ex?? I'm glad you are getting help on how to deal with him.

You and MMjr are in my thoughts and prayers. :loveya:

11. Tell me about it...the focusing part.
I'm still not there, yet. I'm glad you got that brief written. I've got to get some stuff together by Thursday, and I'm just prayin' that I'll get it done.

You are in our prayers, too, M.

16. Go to NOLA, don't even come here yet.
Don't do that to yourself. By next year the debris will be cleaned up and things in better shape.

This year, it's not purty, I still haven't driven all the way to Gulfport on Hwy 90. It's too depressing.

Enjoy NOLA this year, by next year, I'll have a house **fingerscrossed** and we can have a get together.

To Mardi Gras 2007 and to the future! :toast:

Good luck with your project!

10. The greatest Mardi Gras Krewe.
Rex's Parade runs tomorrow morning at 10 AM, right after Zulu.

19. What's a "Krewe"?
So there must be many parades tomorrow, then, eh?

I've never followed mardi Gras at all, and always thought there was just the one big parade and celebration. But since New Orleans is in the news so much this year, I'm getting the impression they started parading a week or two ago, and it's confusing me.

22. Krewe is any group that puts on a parade for Mardi Gras...
and now there are Krewes for St. Pats and other holidays.

Tomorrow there aren't as many official parades as there are second lines and other groups meandering through the French Quarter. The Indians will be out tomorrow, in force...and that'd be worth making the trip.

The parades in general start about two weekends before Fat Tuesday and continue until Fat Tuesday. Then everyone goes to the French Quarter, parties their asses off until they are pukin', fallin' down drunk, and then the cops make a moving baracade out of horses at midnight, and move everyone off the streets and into the bars or back to their hotel rooms, in preparation for Ash Wednesday, when lent officially begins. Then, 40 days until Easter.

14. They just said on CNN that Harry Connick, Jr. isn't in NOLA
He is performing on Broadway (The Pajama Game)

I think they said Steven Seigal, but not sure.

I'll catch NOLA news for you.

18. I can't believe you don't get NOLA stations, you are as close
to NOLA as I am, if not closer. x(

News is on, let's see what they have to say (other than really bad traffic).

Last year's King & Queen of Zulu are this year's King & Queen.

25. Yeah, I get local channels, but dtv considers local to be Jackson
Even though I'm as close to NOLA and even closer to Baton Rouge.

I, too, get ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX on East and West Coasts--because I'm considered in a rural area.

DTV's rules are often convoluted and arbitrary.
