Ground is covered in white, has been going on last five minutes or so...

forgot to add thunder right on top of me with lightening added as a bonus, no extra charge, my poor dog...

3. hail was coming down sideways from the west, still thundering, I hope it
doesn't knock down any of the oak trees that surround my house...

Guess I will wait a bit to go pick up my son.

Thanks for answering.

5. Looks like it has moved eastward to the foothills, still very dark clouds
outside, but the weather map shows the storm cell has moved on.

Thanks for being here...

We may get a few more cells later in the day, up until dark.

At least I didn't lose power, it just flickered a few times and all my trees are still standing.

2. Hello Chico! I used to spend some time there.
Back in the day. And Lake Almanor.

As for the hail....welcome to Kansas. That's typical spring weather here.

4. Haven't been to Lake Almanor yet, Chico has grown and is still growing
The south end of town is all box stores and malls. They are even building east of Bruce Road now...

Still, I love it here.

Our hail isn't usually quite this large nor does it come in with such a bang.

Redwood falls, killing woman and her dog

Bay City News
Tuesday, February 28, 2006

Boulder Creek -- A tall Redwood tree struck and killed a woman and her small dog when it split about 100 feet above ground and tumbled down on the pair Monday night in Boulder Creek, Santa Cruz County Coroner Sgt. Larry Roland said today.

Loretta Malat, 73, walked her dog outside her home at 223 Oakwood Lane when the large tree pinned her and her dog to the ground.

She was found by a neighbor and pronounced dead at the scene.

Hard-blowing winds most likely knocked down part of the tree, Roland said.
