Oy vey! It's that time of year again...

It gets harder and harder to shop for my neice every year. When Christmas comes, she'll be a 13 year old girl obsessed with basketball. All she wants is clothes. No longer can I just go down to the toy section and find the loudest or most obnoxious toy that I can get my hands on for under 12 bucks and expect her to be happy with it. I don't know what to do.:grr:

Do you know her favorite color(s)? A big basket/tote full of smaller gifts in 'her' colors can be fun (mini-gloves, fleece blanket, hair stuff, nail polish, lip gloss, suncatchers for her window, etc.)
Tickets to a b-ball game, and you go with.
Fun lighting - lava lamp, fiber-optic, that kind of thing.
A shopping trip for the two of you to the bookstore, music store, or wherever, and she can help pick her gift (again, getting to spend time with you)
Some cool journals and fun pens
