My 3 year old has little problem with many "childproof" caps |
|
While I'd like to think of her as a future aerospace engineer or top scientist, it seems that many of these caps on medicines & vitamins and the like are pretty easy to open, even though they are supposedly childproof.
Are companies cutting corners on this?
Unfortunately, we have to lock a lot of this stuff away in the 2nd bathroom since she can get into many cabinets now but just moving a chair & climbing up...
In fact, the only time I remember a childproof cap being really tough was when I was vacationing in Florida and fell of a bike & broke my wrist. The doctor's office gave me painkillers in a big bottle with a childproof cap - while I had a cast covering my left hand that went halfway up my upper arm. Grrrr...

If you need somebody to help you get into something child proof, go to a kid. lol.
It's like kids are determined to get into something if they're told they physically can't. (Not that your kid is this way).
I always keep anything I don't want kids touching away from their reach.

2. Many manufacturers of pain medicines are also offering |
|
caps which are not childproof these days in response to growing criticism from the rheumatoid arthritis community. Some types of flare-ups made it impossible to open the containers and seek the relief they so desperately needed. Be absolutely certain you're bringing the proper type of bottle into your home if you have small children.
But yeah, they're not all that complicated.
