8. Well, I differ from much of DU here

I rate it an 8. It's very entertaining, and now that it produced a star (Kelly Clarkson) who made an album I love, I've given it more credibility. Simon, while jerky (shouldn't have made Lisa cry,) is refreshingly honest. Still, it needs to not have as many Kevin Covaises, Mikalah Gordons, and Scott Savols in the finals. Also, the format is a bit limited (that's why it was neat having an opera-trained singer this year.) Some undiscovered talent will find the show not for them. Finally, the voting is subject to manipulation by sites like Vote For The Worst.
