When you feel anger, what do you do to stop yourself saying or doing
something that you will later regret?

1. I try and take a deep breath and walk away for a few minutes...
Sometimes those few minutes makes all the difference. And if it doesn't, I generally don't regret what I say. And if I'm followed and pressed while I'm trying to walk away, I don't regret it either. Figure they had it coming.

But I never get angry. I'm sweet and kind and thoughtful and...

April fools!

3. Abide by my "Golden Rule for Fighting":

"Never hit below the belt." This applies especially with Mr. SG, family members and close friends, as I know many of their "soft spots", and would never want to use that knowledge to hurt them in a moment of anger. I also apply it to people I don't know as well, because I don't want to get hit below the belt.

I don't get really angry very much (unless the Bushista's are spewing their crap), but if I do get really pissed, I shut my mouth, and walk away for a little while to calm down. I'm not saying I don't stand up for myself, but opening my mouth before engaging my brain (and my heart) is not something I want to do.

5. get strength from others
Sometimes I just need to say what I have to say and let it out, so I vent to somebody who won't hate me for it, then talk about a better way to handle the situation.
