WHo's the resident douchebag radio morning man in your area? |
|
We have this assbag in Vancouver... NOT funny... but, naturally he thinks he's hilarious. It's nothing more than sad attempts at shock jock style humour... so boring and played out. http://www.rock101.com/shows/bro_jake.cfm

3. The local radio talkshow wingnut (my pet wingnut) |
|
is a purebred wingnut. His father was a weatherman in the 60s and mostly a farm and ranch talkshow type, like, at 4 A.M. They owned the one radio station for years. It was a time when media types tried to hide their politics on the air.
The younger dude is thoroughly and openly wingnut, but is intelligent, hosts guests of all stripes and a wide variety of topics, including interviewing big name authors on their book tours.
I deluge him with articles and my own e-mails railing against wingnutism and chastising him for things he says. He attempts to be courteous and answers my most pertinent things. We long ago gave up the thought of converting each other. Sometimes he even sends me links he's run across sympathetic to the Dem side.
That said, one of his own personal mottoes is, "EVERYBODY is a racist," meaning minorities also harboring racist thoughts against Whites and one another.

He was on in Cleveland for the last 3 years, then moved to Chicago after Stern went to Sirius. I believe he's now on in several markets. The usual unfunny, Stern ripoff shock jock stuff.
I got Sirius in January, and now listen to Howard Stern in the mornings. He is funnier than ever, yet isn't overdoing the foul language thing.

5. We used to be afflicted with Lex & Terry in the Dallas market... |
|
And then Clear Channel bought the station, changed the format from album rock to "jammin' oldies," and gave these two jokers 15 minutes to clear their desks.

Back when 102.1 FM was still KTXQ, aka Q102 (boy, I'm dating myself here), after Bo Roberts and Jim White were given their walking papers, Lex and Terry came in as the new morning crew. They were booted out along with everyone else from the Q when the Clear Channel hatchetman came in. The Dallas Observer documented the mass firing, and stated that while "Dave" was telling everyone to clear their desks within 15 minutes, Lex and Terry stood up to Dave, cleared their throats, and declared, "We're the morning crew." Dave turned to them and said something like, "So you're the morning crew. Well, guess what? They hate you. Hate you. I've seen the Arbitron sheets. You have 15 minutes before security throws you out."
And thus, an album rock station became "jammin' oldies" sans Lex and Terry. Then Clear Channel abandoned the "jammin' oldies" project, moved their local alt-rock station KDGE from 94.5 FM up to Q102's old stomping grounds, and decided to bring back Lex and Terry after all. Bo and Jim now inhabit another Clear Channel station, KZPS 92.5, although they were separated for a short time by some corporate boardroom screwup.

He is a pustulant, mendacious shitstain.
I can't believe "pustulant" and "shitstain" aren't in the DU spellcheck.

12. F**K Syndicated Radio |
|
Thanks to national radio syndication we have no local loundmouths, funnymen, wiseguys, or shock-jocks on in the morning in Seattle anymore. Even the one team that was local up until a year or so ago are now being syndicated themselves.
So the best answer is: Adam Corolla. I like him on TV doing the funnyguy/straightman routine, but his voice is sooooooooooo irritating on the radio first thing in the morning that I would rather drive to work in silence than listen. He's not a douchebag, but the only douchebags we get in the AM are the same ones everyone else gets.
