A group of drunken pals went to an In-N-Out burger shop on Hallowe'en 2004 and demanded a burger with 100 patties, setting some sort of gluttony record at the burger joint. In-N-Out is justly famous for making excellent fast-food burgers in an open kitchen, and for allowing customers to order as many patties as they'd like, at $1 per patty. The tale told on this website details the attempt of eight people to eat $100 worth of discount fried beef and "sweaty cheese."
