How good is your 'Liberdar' (ability to tell who's a liberal)? |
|

Can you tell a fellow liberal on sight or are you just clueless? I confess I'm not very successful.

1. I've never tested mine really... |
|
I try not to talk politics with people so it's hard to test it. I've been fooled a few times by people who are libs who I wouldn't expect though so I'm guessing mine's not very good.

2. Locally, I am very, very good. |

It's geographic. Tell me where you live in my city and I will tell your politics. :D

Sure Austin has its very blue reputation. But within the city limits, Dallas is blue. They just elected a gay Latina sherriff a year or so ago.
The suburbs are where it gets REALLY nasty here.
But reprehensor and I screw up your system every time, don't we crispini? :D

Inside Loop 12= probably liberal, with the exception of HP. North of LBJ= probably not. North/Outside of 190= DEFINITLY not.
Except for ya'll! How are you doing up there?

Not bad not bad! Still loving my new job. Started first part of February. Get to be the lone writer, and make all the rules for... myself! Woo hoo! The freedom!
Al's just happy about the money. And we can start doing some serious home renovation now...new roof, foundation work, fancy closet...bathroom renovation after a few months....aaaahhhh....job...good....

7. Dallas is bluer than Austin. |
|
If you look at Kerry voters. Of course, Dallas is also LARGER than Austin, in a big way.

4. I can usually if someone is NOT a liberal. |
|
Around here it is safer to assume someone is a conservative, because there are a lot more of them. especially among men. With women, it is harder to assume one way or another. I live in S. Texas.

I generally need to see/hear someone say something asinine before my Freepdar kicks in. :D

10. Quite good, actually. |
|
Something about the way people carry themselves gives it away almost immediately for me. It's not 100%, and I assume nothing without proof, but my hunches are almost always true.

Not all the time, but with a lot of people you can tell which side they're on pretty quickly.

I wish I were better at it. Until the other person gives a clue, flashes a bumper sticker, or puts out a yard sign at election time, I tend to keep the conversation to superficial stuff. Then again, I'm not very good at evaluating people in general, since I tend to pay more attention to my own little world than to the outside world. Which is probably how I ended up in my share of shitty relationships and unreliable "friendships."
