Poll question: will it ever be hip to have papayas? |

w/ their pink mushy flesh, tropically sweet taste, bursting seed case, and obscenely bulbous shape, can papayas ever really gain acceptance in the US of A?

1 of my best-ever copycats, and not a murmer from the lizards. get off that sunny rock, shake off your torpor, & chase down a helpless rodent or something...

I had my first papaya in 1983 when I stayed in Hawaii about two months (between my junior and senior years of college). I've been a papaya devotee ever since. Oh, and I love guavas and fresh pineapple too!!! :9

...If the Lost cast can play fruit poker using papayas (and mangoes, bananas, and whatever the hell other fruit grows there), then papayas will indeed be cool soon. :)

but i'm a FIRM advocate of diversity-in-fruit and believe that consulting adults shd be able to openly enjoy ANY fruit, not merely keep their mangoes in the closet.
i find the military's "no tell" stance, and the absence of mangoes & papayas openly displayed in the messhall and PX to be an affront.
