Holy crap. I have been changing diapers for almost eight straight years. |
|
With the exception of the small gap of time between when my first potty trained and my second was born, I have been changing SOMEONE'S diaper(s) for over eight years. I'm down to one, now, at least. Eight years. I don't even know how I feel about that. It seems crazy. Time sure flies when you're busy experiencing the rigors of butt-wiping.

I was changing diapers AND breastfeeding AND co-sleeping with my now-six-year-old while actively trying to conceive another. :D
(I wanted two closely spaced siblings, and I wanted to get all that childbearing in before I was 35.)
The kids are 2 years and 9 days apart.

20. It is one of those mileposts in raising kids. |
|
Mine have been out of dipes for several years now. They are just starting to put themselves to bed (and even going up early to read their books).
I still keep diaper wipes around. Handy little things.

23. Much respect. It's only been three and a half for me and it feels |
|
like forever. These three are little shit factories. My oldest is not having a thing to do with the potty. He tells me "later mommy, later" I think the twins might be using it before him! I can't wait until they are out of these things.
Wow, eight years. I can't imagine.

24. Going on 10 years here. |
|
Throw some twins in there as well.
I am beginning the toilet training of my youngest.
I've always wondered if I would just "know" which was the very last diaper change I'll ever do.
Maybe I should frame it and hang it.

25. Got you beat, 11 years plus blue crap! |
|
1980-1983, 1985-1993 plus feed the kids blue frosting on their birthday cakes and you'd be surprised (or not) at what comes out!
But wait, it gets better!
The other day I was eating dinner when I got called to pick up my daughter at high school and realized that it's been 26 years since I've been guaranteed an uninterrupted meal!
They must be cute or they'd never make it to puberty!

My younger one is showing signs of potty training readiness, so there's a light at the end of the tunnel for me. It is shocking when you realize that kind of thing, isnt' it?
