1. Astral Weeks, Moondance, and St. Dominic's Preview.
I can't stand the song "Moondance" but that album is fanfriggintastic. I like Astral Weeks better than that. SDP is a sentimental favorite.

There are so many good Van songs, it's hard to narrow it down.

9. Well, my first experience with it was on jukeboxes at the bar, LOL....
So a bunch of drunk frat boys yelling unintelligably to Van isn't the best intro, LOL. It is fun to sing...I dunno, it's kind of overplayed or something.

I always apologize to Van when I skip the track on cd!

5. Any already listed, and...
He doesn't have any bad albums, but for others from the cream of them:

"Tupelo Honey"

"Into The Music"

"Poetic Champions Compose"

"Enlightenment"

"Hymns To The Silence"

And "The Philosopher's Stone"

and get his mid-60's Them albums.

...and his collaboration with the Chieftains, "Irish Heartbeat".

6. Hymns to the Silence...
May be a little too "gospel" for some tastes, but I dig it...

7. Astral Weeks and Moondance, the yin and yang of Van's discography.
I like the title track, especially, on Moondance.

10. On a slightly off-beat note
"Irish Heartbeat" with the Chieftains is really magical. He manifests a level of soul there that one might not expect.
