they just can't tell anyone they were allowed in and no one can ask if they were allowed in. I've got a queer friend over in Iraq right now. I tried to get him to violate "don't ask, don't tell" but he wouldn't do it because of his father. Politically, he's one of us. He knows how much we've fucked it all up over there. He's back for a week in May then he goes back to Iraq.

He's relatively safe. He does intelligence in some sort of secret location. With the exception of one helicopter ride (he said it was "really fucking cool"), he doesn't go outside.
I just can't wait until he's back home for good.
