My beloved cousin, whom I had been very close to years ago, criticized my lifestyle and my involvement in the anime fandom.
I feel betrayed. :-(

And what does your cousin do?

12. What really makes me sad, |
|
is that the two of us used to sit together and watch anime and make our usual smartass comments.

No one should belittle you for your interests or lifestyle, as long as you are harming no one. Your interests are part of what make you you.

10. In Bushworld, we all need escapism |
|
I like to read fantasy books and play computer games when I'm not working on school, hanging out, or surfing DU and blogs. It's my flight of fancy so that I can forget about my day to day stresses and the horrible state of the world.
You've chosen an artistic, creative form of escapism, so she should be happy. Better than trying to forget about the world through alcohol or drug abuse.

14. lots of artists are odd sorts |
|
you probably appear odd to her because you are odd...oddly enough most artists are odd...some are not...but most are in one way or another, you just have to follow your heart...you have a lot of talent...you should concentrate on that and not what normal people think of you...when you become a success they will say...i knew her back when...but she's still odd...
