I HATE MY CAMERA!
:grr:

my camera will not work for me. it is always having little glitches, but tonight it won't work at all.

it's a sony cybershot 5.1 megapixels just like the one below

every now and then it will go out on me and say the battery is dead even if they are new. usually i can turn it back on and it works again, but tonight i can't turn it back on. I can turn it on to view the pictures i've already taken, but as soon as i switch it over to the camera mode to take pictures, it goes out on me.

can anyone help me before i smash a $300 camera?

1. Digital cameras often don't play well with "regular" batteries.
I've had two cameras that only really worked well with Duracell Ultras or Energizer e3 batteries. "Regular" batteries don't handle the amp pull well.

I have a similar CyberShot and I've been very happy with it.

11. You're doing something wrong.
The rechargeable batteries that come with that camera are excellent. Double check the manual and your use of the charger/equipment. :)

The batteries have to go into the charger with the correct end in the correct slot.

Disposable batteries will NEVER work well in that camera.

3. if you still have the receipt
take it back and get a new one. Just 'cause it's a Sony don't mean it aint a lemon.

9. When my fuji camera crapped out after warranty
my only option was send the camera back to them with a check for $75.00. They sent me a 'reconditioned' camera with a factory guarantee. Good luck.

10. Is there a setting where you tell it what kind of batteries you're using?
For instance, on one of the menus on my GPS there is a place where I specify whether I've put in NiMH (rechargeable) batteries or alkaline.

6. Try picking up some lithium batteries, my dear Ava......
My little Canon came with lithium batteries in it, and after 3 years, I just replaced them......

They work better, and longer too....

Have you checked your owner's manual for troubleshooting? That's worth a shot, I think.....

Good luck!

Whatever you do.....DON'T smash it!
