5. Hey, the other night
I was listening to the Mariners' game, and there was a commercial for a Blue Öyster Cult concert in Seattle. The announcer went yadayadayadayada... "and all the cowbell you can handle."

I gather that started as a SNL thing, but just how widespread is it?

6. I think it is the meme that swept the nation
I used to see a ton of shirts at Hot Topic that said stuff like "We need more cowbell." I think people forgot the original connotation, even.

BTW - I love your avatar, so much. I have to tell you my Gumby story. I had open heart surgery when I was 13, and my last memory before I blacked out on the anesthetics was of being wheeled into the OR, and I remember thinking of the Gumby skit where Michael Palin is hitting himself in the head and saying "my brain hurrrts! Raaahhhhh!"

Good times.

7. I should hope to have the same thought
if I ever have surgery.

However, I'd also hope they would not forget the anaesthetic.

8. I would join the Python quote thread
But it's been a GOOD eight years since I've sat down and watched them all. I, sadly, am capable of only the most well-known of quotes.

9. Then contribute when you can
I'm certainly aware that not many people are as Python-obsessed as I. But there's room for all.

12. This one is worth saving
I've got a very young, immature, far right, so-called christian who works next to me that needs to see this. He told me last week that we shouldn't be criticizing Bush so much about the war and the loss of lives, that it wasn't a mistake, that they didn't lie about weapons of mass then but they're lying to us now saying there isn't any, yadda, yadda. None of this matters to him because what Bush is really protecting him from is what matters most and it's not terrorism....it's gay marriage that Bush is protecting him from.
I told him if he says it one more time I'm going to bend him over a desk and make him "squeal like a pig" and that god won't let him into heaven after I do it.
