Finally saw Batman Begins
Good movie. I like Bale as Batman, and how it all started.

Is a sequel planned?

1. I haven't heard about a sequel...
Edited on Sun Apr-09-06 06:57 PM by Tripper11
..although the way it ended kind of makes me think there will be.
I really dug this picture. I was quite surprised how much I liked it. The whole movie from beginning to end was so cool and it sure made all the other batmans as campy as the 60's series!

2. "Would you like to see my mask"? I use it in my experiments.....
Oh...probably not very frightening to a guy like you, but these crazies...they can't stand it."

3. The sequel is being written now...
Chris Nolan will be back as director and confirmed cast so far is; Christian Bale, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman.

I liked it a lot too.:hi:

4. Not only is there a sequel...
.. Bale has upped for 3 pictures and an option for a FOURTH (fourth?? that's strange, not really, wait)

and the new Superman movie, the star has signed for 3 pictures with an option for a FOURTH (what's with this FOURTH stuff? Patience..)

ASSUMING all goes well with the films (good box office, etc...) the plans are for somewhere down the line, for a special picture...

a WORLD'S FINEST picture (comic fans will explain..)

that's the FOURTH picture.

5. By far the smartest and best Batman movie.
It was a complete retelling, minus the camp of even the Tim Burton films (don't get me started on the Joel Schumacher garbagefest).

6. Schumacher ruined them
I thought the first Burton movie was decent, the 2nd was over the top... the 3rd wasn't good and I never saw the 4th.

7. Schumacher?...Batman Movie...?
Nope...never happened. There was just a looong gap between "Batman Returns" and "Batman Begins".:P

8. Yes, Bale was wonderful
I really enjoyed it, too - watched it twice in succession actually and I almost never do that.

10. I tend to like actors who are "intense" on the screen
Bale did it.

George Clooney is normally intense, but he got stuck in the wrong Batman movie with the wrong director & wrong screenwriter.

12. A year ago, I read that Nolan and Goyer have the framework for a trilogy
What the original film so effectively depicted was the passing of the torch, from the criminal intelligentsia to the psychopaths. In a sense, Gotham is in a worse position at the conclusion than it was before Batman arrived.

As far as reports go, the second film will chronicle the efforts of Wayne, Gordon, and Harvey Dent to take down the Joker; the third film will center on Dent's transmutation into Two Face. Ancillary characters may include surviving crime lords such as the Penguin, and possibly the heir to the League of Shadows, Talia al Ghul. Batman on Film offers up the juicy tidbits.

As laudable as "King Kong" and "Revenge of the Sith" were, "Batman Begins" hit hardest. Can't wait.

16. No, but the first D.A. was murdered by Liam Neeson's thugs
This vacuum will be filled by Dent.

I've never seen such a perfect set-up to a series.
