I guess I'm the only one in the lounge who DOESN'T watch West Wing. |
|
:eyes: oh well.
I'm finding all the drama about spoilers quite amusing....although I can certainly appreciate why everyone is upset.
I take it somebody blew it, eh?
Kinda tacky, imo.

Never had much use for "political dramas". Maybe it's because I was a PoliSci major and worked with too many politicians to know their jobs are mostly drudgery interspersed with boring shit.
Most TV sucks. Except for COPS. That show is fucking hilarious. Especially when Bubba loses his shirt right before he gets arrested.

21. Majoring in PoliSci totally turned me off "conventional" politics |
|
It seemed that the only people I knew who wanted to be politicians were doing it for the wrong reasons (power, money, power, notoriety, power, getting their name in the papers, power, etc.).
After four years of being around ass-kissing, power-hungry jerkoffs, I decided I'd had enough and had nothing more to do with it-- until after the 2000 election, when we had to do something.
I haven't watched "24" yet. But I have a feeling I'd get addicted to it right away :hi:

"conventional" clearly doesn't work. We need new ways of creating social change.
Re: 24, I had heard good advance buzz on this season and it definitely has not disappointed. I'm completely and utterly hooked, even though it stretches the boundaries of "reality" quite amusingly.

I can understand why people would be so angry about the spoiler. The entire season was building up to what was revealed in that spoiler.
I'm mad as hell on principle. Because next time it could be a show that I watch.

I've never been one for 'popular' TV... more of a Discovery/History/that-kinda-stuff girl, myself, when I do watch TV.
But, I can understand the frustration of not wanting people to give things away, for those who do watch!

There just isn't much teevee that I make a concerted effort to watch on a regular basis. Alias, Medium, and the Office are the only shows I really follow (Alias being the only one I actually flip out, if I miss.) I'm not a big television watcher.

many are here. It's a damned TV show. I can see being disappointed, but would hardly have a shit fit about it.
There's too much real crap going on in the world - a look at LBN will put a reality check on the spoiler hysteria - maybe.

45. I think it makes sense.... |
|
I am a big believer in including all material related so that people can decide for themselves what is worth believing in....
Not relying on a political machine using spiritual means to attain and then maintain power...
Constantine was responsible for the modern Bible...
It was his desire to pull Christianity together under one umbrella that cause The Gospel of Thomas, Judas, Mary and others to be put aside....
It was all political...
But if you look at it, in the Judas case, it makes a lot of sense that they both arranged the whole thing ahead of time...
There is speculation that Judas and Jesus were related...

Really good, hysterically funny. Christopher Moore. Check it out, if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed.
I agree with you about the political aspects of the modern Bible. Makes sense to me...as well as the fact that Jesus and Judas had a special arrangement. One might say karmic, even.
